Secretariat
The OPSC secretariat is the commission’s central point of contact for external parties. It is headed by the Director and is divided into five divisions.
The secretariat:
- prepares the commission’s business and duly implements its directives, standards and other decisions;
- examines the annual reports of the regional and cantonal supervisory authorities; ensures consistent supervisory practices nationwide, and may conduct inspections in furtherance of this work;
- maintains the register of accredited occupational pension actuaries;
- exercises direct supervision over the investment foundations, the Guarantee Fund and the Substitute Occupational Benefit Institution;
- coordinates the sharing of expert information with other second-pillar stakeholders.
